What are the opening hours of the Alcázar of Jerez?

• From January to June and from October to December: Monday to Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• From July to September: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

It is also open on Sundays, so it is one of the safe plans for the weekend. Go early in summer: patios and gardens are in the sun.

How much does the entrance cost?

• Solo Alcázar: €5 for the general price and €1.80 for the reduced price.
• Alcázar with dark room: €7 for the general one and €4.20 for the reduced one.
• Groups: €4 (Alcázar only) and €6 (with camera obscura).

The reduced rate is for pensioners, students and residents of Jerez, according to the City Council rates page.

When is the Alcázar of Jerez free?

Mondays: from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in winter time and from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in summer time. The free entry does not include the camera obscura, which on those days costs €2.40.

What is the camera obscura and where is it?

It is a system of lenses and a mirror that projects, live, what is happening in the city at that moment, rotating 360°. It is in the tower of the Villavicencio Palace, inside the Alcázar.

The visit is guided, lasts about 20 minutes and up to 16 people enter per pass.
