Beach with dog near Jerez: where you can go from October

Why not in summer and now?

In Andalusia, the Decree 194/1998 prohibits pets on bathing beaches from June 1 to September 30. The rest of the year is decided by each town council, and that is why each beach has its calendar.

What beaches can you go to with a dog from October?

• Cádiz capital: urban beaches from October 1 to Palm Sunday (in 2027, March 21), according to their beach ordinance. Never in dunes or natural sections.
• Rotates: from October 1 to May 31, each year.
• Chiclana: the side 2025-26 allowed them in La Barrosa and Sancti Petri from October 15 to March 15. This winter's one is not published yet.

From Jerez, Cádiz is the easiest without a car: the Cercanías takes the dog for free, with a leash and muzzle.

Are there dog beaches near Jerez?

• Torregorda (Cádiz): 340 m on a leash and a 125 m fenced area to be free. Open from March to October.
• Lavaculos (Chiclana), next to the Sancti Petri breakwater: a closed area for off-leash use and 150 m of sand and water.
• El Aculadero (El Puerto): about 9,000 m² and 165 m of shore. It is not confirmed if it opens outside of summer.

What to bring?

Leash, pick-up bags and water for the dog. In Cádiz, the ordinance requires carrying bags or utensils for excrement. Check the notice for each beach when you arrive: some sections have their own signs.
